Refunds & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellations, changes, and refunds are handled when you book travel services through CK-Travelers Australia. Please read this policy carefully before making a booking.

1. Supplier cancellation terms apply

All travel bookings made through CK-Travelers Australia are subject to the cancellation and refund policies of the relevant supplier (airline, hotel, tour operator, etc.). These terms vary widely between suppliers and fare types.

Before confirming your booking, we will provide you with the applicable supplier cancellation terms in writing. By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

2. Flights

Flight cancellation and change rules are set by airlines and depend on the fare class booked:

  • Non-refundable fares (economy saver/sale fares): No refund on cancellation. Changes may be possible for a fee plus any fare difference. Some fares are fully fixed with no changes permitted.
  • Flexible fares (full economy, business): Cancellation may be possible with a partial or full refund, less any airline cancellation fee.
  • Taxes and surcharges: Government taxes are generally refundable on cancelled itineraries (less a processing fee).

We will always clearly advise the fare rules before you confirm your flight booking.

3. Accommodation

Hotel and accommodation cancellation terms depend on the property and rate type:

  • Non-refundable rates: No refund on cancellation. These rates are typically lower-priced in exchange for no flexibility.
  • Flexible rates: Generally cancellable free of charge up to a specified deadline (e.g., 48–72 hours before check-in). Cancellations after the deadline may incur a fee (typically 1 night's cost or full amount).

4. Packages and tours

Package and tour cancellation fees typically apply on a sliding scale based on notice period:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Deposit forfeited; some packages may allow credit or rebooking.
  • 30–60 days before departure: 25–50% of total package cost may be forfeited.
  • 14–29 days before departure: 50–75% of total package cost may be forfeited.
  • Less than 14 days before departure: Up to 100% of total cost may be forfeited.

Exact terms vary by package. Specific cancellation fees will be provided in your booking confirmation.

5. CK-Travelers Australia service fees

Our service fee (where charged) is non-refundable on cancellation. This fee covers the work performed in arranging your booking. If a booking is cancelled due to our error or negligence, our service fee will be refunded in full.

6. How to cancel or change a booking

To request a cancellation or change, please contact us as soon as possible:

Cancellation fees are calculated from the date we receive your written cancellation request. Verbal or WhatsApp requests should be followed up in writing.

7. Refund processing

Where a refund is approved:

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method
  • Airline and supplier refunds can take 4–12 weeks to process, depending on the supplier
  • Our service fees are returned within 5–10 business days where applicable
  • We will keep you updated on the status of any refund request

8. Supplier insolvency

In the unfortunate event that a supplier becomes insolvent or ceases operations, your rights depend on your payment method and any travel insurance you hold. We recommend paying by credit card where possible, as this may provide additional consumer protection (chargeback rights).

As a disclosed agent, our liability is limited to amounts we have received and not yet remitted to the supplier at the time of insolvency.

9. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy removes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to a remedy for a failure to provide services as described. If a supplier fails to provide the service you paid for, you have rights against both the supplier and, where applicable, against us.

10. Travel insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation cover. This can protect you from financial loss if you need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (illness, injury, family emergency). Please ensure your policy is purchased at the time of booking.
